The Work of the Department
Crawley Hospital's Paediatric Department is already merged with that at East
Surrey Hospital. All neonatal care is undertaken at the East Surrey
Hospital site. We have a 29-bedded children's ward and also run a busy
ambulatory service on the same floor. Because we no longer
undertake neonatology, SHOs may now gain plentiful experience in community
paediatrics, which is certainly an advantage as far as GP trainees are
concerned.
The Department has particular interests in cystic fibrosis, diabetes, oncology
and gastro-enterology. An introductory pamphlet is available
